A Step-by-Step Guide to Building Your Website and Online Shop Using Digital Portfolio™
Hello everyone 👋, I’m Melat, a technical writer at Digital Portfolio™. In this guide, I'm excited to take you through the simple steps to create your very own website and online shop using Digital Portfolio™ — all with just a few clicks.

Part 1 - Creating a Website with Digital Portfolio™
1 . Start Your Journey 🗺️
To create your website, head over to digitalportfolio.com and click on the Sign In button located at the top right corner of the page.
2 . Create an Account 📝
If you’re new to Digital Portfolio™, click on the Create an Account button or log in using your Google account by selecting the Login Via Google option.
Note: If you choose the Create an Account option, be sure to fill out the registration form and verify your email address to activate your account.
3 . Log In 🔑
Once your registration is successful, log in using the email and password you provided during registration. After logging in, you’ll be redirected to your dashboard.
4 . Create Your Website 🖥️
To create your website, click on the Websites tab in the left navigation menu and then hit the New Website button.
5 . Fill Out the Form ✍️
Complete the form carefully. The URL Alias refers to the name of your website that appears after the main domain, digitalportfolio.com. We recommend using your name as your website name—either just your first name or both your first and last name. Make sure your URL Alias is at least 2 characters long.
For example, if your first and last name is Tibebe Solomon, you can use Tibebe or Tibebe-Solomon as your URL Alias. So that your website address will be: digitalportfolio.com/Tibebe or digitalportfolio.com/Tibebe-Solomon.
Note:
- Before finalizing your URL alias, check if it’s already taken by someone else.
- If you want to use a custom domain like YourName.com instead of the platform domain (digitalportfolio.com), you can request this from the settings Tab in your dashboard.
- When uploading images, please adhere to the recommended image sizes. Click on the help icons for guidance.
- You can use images, videos, or YouTube links as your website’s top header cover.
6 . Save Your Progress 💾
After filling out the form, click on the Save and Next button. You’ll then see the next section.
7 . Personal Details 👤
Click on Personal Details tab and fill out the necessary fields. Only the fields marked with a red * are mandatory; however, we recommend completing most optional fields to enhance your website's appearance. Once done, click on Save and Next to proceed to the Other Configuration section. You can use the default settings or customize them as needed.
8 . Choose a Template 🎨
Click on the Website Templates tab in the sub-navigation menu and select your preferred template from over 64 stunning, professionally designed website templates.
Note:
- Before choosing a template, preview each one to find the best fit for you.
- To select a template, simply click on it and then hit the Save button at the bottom.
9 . Customize Your Dynamic Website ⚙️
Move to the Dynamic Website tab, where you can adjust:
- The primary and secondary colors of your website
- Background color, button styles, label, and description text colors
- Social icon and card background colors
- As you make changes, you’ll see an instant preview on the mobile image on the right side.
10 . Complete Remaining Sections 🗂️
Continue filling out the remaining sections, from Business Hours to Manage sections, one by one to make your website complete and visually appealing.
11 . Preview Your Website 👀
To see how your website looks, click on the Websites tab in the main navigation menu on the left side of your dashboard and click on the web icon of your website.
12 . Edit Anytime ✏️
You can edit any part of your website at any time by hovering over your website and clicking on the Edit icon.
13 . Congratulations! 🎉
You have successfully created your professional website!
Main Components of Your User Dashboard 📊
1 . Inquiries 💬
Whenever users contact you or send messages through the Inquiries or contact us section of your website, you'll receive those messages in the Inquiries module of your dashboard. This allows you to view and respond promptly to any inquiries.
2 . Appointments 📅
The Appointments module lets you see who has scheduled an appointment with you via your website’s appointment section. You can easily approve appointments by clicking the Pending button in the Status column.
3 . Product Orders 🛒
If you sell products on your website, the Product Orders module will display a list of purchased items. Here, you can view who bought what, the amount paid, the payment method used, and other relevant details.
4 . Affiliations 🤝
The Affiliations module enables you to share Digital Portfolio™ with your friends. When they sign up and purchase a subscription plan, you earn 10% of each payment made by those you referred. There’s no cap on your earnings! The more people you refer, the more income you generate, creating a scalable opportunity to enhance your finances. 5 . Custom Domain 🌍
A custom domain is a unique web address that you own for your website, replacing the platform domain (https://digitalportfolio.com/). When you create a website using Digital Portfolio™, your default address will be https://digitalportfolio.com/{URL_Alias}. The URL Alias is the name of your website that follows the platform or custom domain. For more details, please visit this blog.
6 . Settings ⚙️
The Settings module contains four submenus: General, Payment Configuration, Open AI, and Custom Domain.
- In the General tab, you can select your preferred currency, enable PWA (Progressive Web App), and more.
- Enabling PWA allows your website or online shop to be installed as a mobile application on your computer.
- The Payment Configuration submenu lets you set up your preferred payment methods for your products or services.
- To request a custom domain, visit the settings section of your dashboard. For example, if your custom domain is keneandawit.com, your website address will then be https://keneandawit.com/{URL_Alias}.
Part 2 - Creating an Online Shop with Digital Portfolio™ 🛒
An online shop is a powerful platform that enables you to sell products or services directly to consumers over the internet. To set up your online shop using Digital Portfolio™, follow these straightforward steps:
1 . Access WhatsApp Stores 📱
Click on the WhatsApp Stores tab in the left main navigation menu, then select the “New WhatsApp Store” button.
2 . Fill Out the Form 📝
Complete the form and click the Save button.
Note:
The Store Unique Alias is the distinctive name for your store that appears after the platform domain (https://digitalportfolio.com/whatsapp-store/).
For instance: if your Store Unique Alias is myBoutique, your online shop address will be: https://digitalportfolio.com/whatsapp-store/myBoutique
3 . Choose a Template 🎨
Select a template for your online shop. From a selection of 8 different templates, pick one that catches your eye. To choose a template, simply click on your desired template from the list and then hit the Save button at the bottom.
4 . Complete Remaining Sections 🔧
Continue filling out all other sections, from Business Hours to Terms and Conditions, to ensure your shop is fully set up.
5 . Preview and Edit Your Shop 👀
Once you're finished, you can view your online shop and edit it at any time as needed.
6 . Track Your Sales 📊
Every time a new product is purchased from your online shop, the purchase details will be listed in the WhatsApp Product Orders tab on your dashboard.
